Reports - Tabular vs. MSRS Reports

Reports - Tabular vs. MSRS Reports

What is the Difference?

Tabular reports are calculated by the OpenData software and its connection to the SQL database.

MSRS reports are calculated through Microsoft Reporting Services which has its own independent connection to the SQL database.

Because of the fact that there are two different connections to the SQL database and two different programs doing calculations, it is possible that some reports will work and some may not. If for instance the MSRS configuration was incorrectly edited, the Tabular reports would continue to function properly.
